2/11 TNA Impact Results

Welcome, TNA fans, to the February 11th edition of Thursday Night Impact
on Spike TV! Tonight's show opens with a video recap of Mick Foley's
situation with Eric Bischoff and his No DQ match with Kevin Nash, followed
by the band beating down Foley post-match...as well as turning on Nash
himself!

Mike Tenay welcomes us and hypes the remaining slots in the 8-Card Stud
Tournament, as Hogan's music hits and he struts to the ring. Tenay and
Mike agree that where Bischoff/Hogan go, controversy follows, also
touching on Kurt Angle and the fact that he is walking on thin ice when it
comes to how he talks to the boss.

Hogan welcomes the crowd to the Impact zone, receiving a mixed reaction as
he goes on about everyone talking about TNA since he arrived in the
company. But he has more serious matters to discuss, saying tonight the
Impact Zone is in “full lockdown”. He announces that Scott Hall/Pac are
on the outside tonight. Hogan says though they are brothers for life,
they're walking the line. He says their actions against another bother,
Kevin Nash, were unacceptable and if they manage to sneak through the
cracks they will have to deal with Hogan...personally.

Suddenly, Eric Young comes down to the ring with a stern look. A huge
“under-rated” chant breaks out in support of Young. Young says Hogan
should let Pac/Nash back in so they can get whats coming to them. Hogan
says he's been around and he knows and respects Young, but the decision
has been made and they're not getting in the building. Young replies by
saying he's has no choice but to go to them if they aren't let in.
Hogan's final words are that if he's going to go through with his plan
he's going to have to do it off the premises.

Before the commercials hit, Foley is shown asking for Eric Bischoff.

As we return to Impact, Nash and Pac are seen sneaking around, both
chuckling as they look for a way in the Impact Zone.

Match #1: 8-Card Stud Qualifying Match: Orlando Jordan vs. The Pope

As Jordan comes to the ring, we're shown Jordan's previous win over Pope.
Mike Tenay mentions Pope said he was not at 100%, and he was proud of the
victory of the World Champion AJ Styles.

The crowd is completely behind Pope as he looks rather pissed, motionless
in his staredown with Jordan. Pope is aggressive early on with some back
and forth, with a “that was pimpin” chant after a hell of an elbow. Tenay
notes that only 1 other tournament spot is to be decided tonight but Hogan
is known for mixing things up so we don't know for sure. OJ hits a
spinning neckbreaker and starts to dominate Pope with a series of moves.
But it's not long before Pope comes back with a flurry of punches and
pulls off the coronation to a huge pop. Things begin to break down into a
slug fest, and the Pope gets the best of it setting him up on the
turnbuckle and for the D'Angelo Express finisher. Pope gets the 3 count
and advances to Against All Odds.
Winner: The Pope

Jarrett enters Bischoff's office and says he hopes he delivered on his
match with Mr. Anderson. Bischoff says he was very impressed and he
shares that he may have underestimated how valuable he is to the company.
Jarrett mentions that there are still two slots open for the tournament,
and he'd love to be in one of those matches. Bischoff says winning 3
matches at AAO doesn't sound like starting at the bottom to him. He tells
Jarrett to hit the gym and work hard, but he's not going to put him in the
tournament. Jarrett is upset, but doesn't say anything leaving the
office. Bischoff says goodbye with a cocky grin and looks very pleased
with himself.

We return to Impact moving right along to the next match in the tournament.

Match #2: 8-Card Stud Qualifying Match: Suicide vs. Matt Morgan

Suicide has not been on TV for well over a month, and Tenay feels this is
Suicide's chance to prove himself tonight. The announcing duo sells
Morgan's brute strength, but Suicide gets the early momentum, ducking a
few clotheslines, but Morgan comes back with a few moves of his own and
hits a stiff flurry of elbows in the corner. He continues the beat down
with a release suplex a leg drop over the top rope, but Suicide quickly
answers with a missile dropkick. Suicide goes off the ropes to hit a
move, but is caught in a chokehold. Morgan goes to choke him but Suicide
lands on his feet! Unfortunately for Suicide, he quickly follows up
with the Carbon Footprint and Morgan gets the pin after a battle under 5
minutes.
Winner: Matt Morgan

Mick walks into Bischoff's office and timidly states he is willing to take
orders from him as long as he can give him some
assurance that Abyss and
JB's careers are safe. Eric accepts his decision and goes on to mention
that in fact Abyss will have a match at AAO in the 8-Card Stud Tournament,
against a former world champion. That former world champ being Mick,
which fills
all slots of the tournament. To make sure Foley stays in line,
Bischoff threatens to unmask Abyss next week based on the results of the
match. Foley warns Eric not to cross him and storms out of his office.

Eric young is shown briefly backstage pacing, and we're reminded he is on
the lookout for Hall and Nash.

Backstage Hemme interviews Anderson and Angle, who are teaming tonight,
yet are opponents at Against All Odds. Kennedy says it doesn't matter who
his opponent or teammate is, he will be the next world heavyweight
champion...champion. And isn't amused. He says he will snap Anderson's
ankle before the mic falls fall from the ceiling if he decides to try
anything.

Angle goes to talk to Young and tries to talk him out of going after the
Band. He says for all he knows Hogan could be lurking in the shadows. He
shouts at Eric, telling him to stay in the locker room, and Young hits a
locker out of frustration.

Match #3: Amazing Red vs. Doug Williams (c ) for the X Division Championship

A brief recap of Williams winning the title last week is shown, and they
explain how he capitalized by cashing in his title shot after Red had just
worked a grueling match.

Doug Williams goes for a leg from the get go but Red has an answer for
every move, leading to series of reversals and quick rolls ups by Red.
Williams grabs Red and plants his face on the mat three times, then starts
to wear him down in a unique head submission. Great speed and precision
from both men and the crowd appreciates it. Red tries to come back, but
Williams is relentless . He goes to put the nail in the coffin on the
turnbuckle, but gets an enzuigiri for his efforts, and falls out of the
ring to eat a corkscrew dive by red to the outside. 2 ¾ count for Red.
Williams recovers and they are on equal footing for a moment, when
Williams sidesteps, sending Red into the corner, and quickly follows up
with a rolling German Suplex for the win. Doug Williams retains the X
Division title and Red can't believe it. It's nice to see a good clean
win without any outside interference for a change.
Winner: Doug Williams

We return to Impact with a recap of how Tara/Love's feud was cut short.
Can they work together to fight for a common cause?

Hemme is backstage with the duo and asks them about their match tonight.
Angelina says while she didn't like Tara in the past, she has her back
tonight. They both agree that the match with the Beautiful People is
going to get “real ugly.”

Match #4: 3-on-2 Handicap Match: The Beautiful People vs. Tara and Angelina Love

Some entrances happened sometime around this point but I still had
Angelina's entrance in my head and zoned out for a bit. Angelina charges
Velvet around the ring, but gets a cheap shot, putting Velvet in control.
Velvet gets an embarrassing “you can't wrestle” chant against her after a
string of weak moves, and Angelina comes back and knocks her
clock. Tara
steps in the ring after a quick tag and takes it to the beautiful trio,
who retreat outside. Angelina and Tara say no way to taking a breather
and hit the group with a simultaneous baseball slide to lead into the next
commercial.

We come back to Tara getting triple-teamed in the BP corner and I can
hardly believe my eyes when I see Lacey actually doing a wrestling move
for the first time in the match. Things start breaking down and Angelina
hits a huge superkick on Velvet, but Lacey lends some help with the ugly
stick and the Beautiful People get the win.
Winners: The Beautiful People

Christy is backstage and asks Desmond Wolfe about his match tonight
teaming with Hernandez. He doesn't seem too concerned about Super Mex
(calling him “Super Maxi Pad”), and also says he has already put Mr.
Mangled on the shelf for good. He says if anyone takes any cheap shots,
he's going to end them.

Pac and Hall are still lurking around, apparently getting closer to the
Impact Zone.

Match #5: Desmond Wolf and Super Maxi Pad vs. Mr. Anderson and Kurt Angle

Tenay says this match was made by teaming the first 4 qualifiers and
thinks it's a great idea. Mr. Anderson comes out to call the crowd
imbeciles and mouthbreathers in his usual antics. Mike Tenay reminds us
that Angle may be preoccupied worrying about Hall and Nash, and even Hogan
now that he doesn't trust him.

Maxi Pad and Anderson start it off, with Hernandez dominating with a few
of his usual moves, and Anderson runs scared back to his corner and tags
in Angle. Angle and Maxi grapple for a bit, but he quickly tags in Wolfe,
who goes to work on his wrist and a huge Angle/Wolfe chant breaks out.
But Wolfe isn't concerned with pleasing the crowd and tags in Hernandez
who is waiting on the ropes to slingshot himself at Angle. Angle is down
and Desmond decides he wants back in, getting the advantage over Angle
again, but Angle somehow reverses into the Ankle Lock! Desmond quickly
taps, but the ref is distracted by Anderson and he escapes. Super Maxi
tags in but Angle rushes him when he tries to climb the turnbuckle and
land as a huge superplex! Anderson refuses the tag, but Angle is
unconcerned and is a house of fire, and manages to hit the Angle Slam when
Wolfe rushes in. But Anderson suddenly betrays Angle and throws him out
to steal the pin!
Winners: Mr. Anderson and Kurt Angle

Seconds before the commercial, we see Joe heading to the ring and he looks
pretty damn pissed.

Joe makes his way down the ramp, and he is prepared to address the crowd
regarding his match this Sunday against AJ. Joe immediately calls out AJ
for a “little chat”, and AJ comes down in a full suit and tie! Joe said
AJ absolutely disgusts him. Joe recalls some moments when him and AJ gave
it everything they had, friend or foe. Flair moves to pat AJ on the back
and Joe says he is why he is disgusted, that he gave it all up for Flair.
Joe said when Angle asked AJ to decide who the best in the world was, he
threw it all away. Flair comes back by saying AJ is the champ and Joe is
going to learn the word respect. Joe said he should come to the ring and
teach him respect but then he'd be in the hospital. Joe then went on to
say he cheated them all. AJ turns it around by bringing up his past and
asks him how the Nation of Violence is going now that the MEM money has
dried up! He asks who he is to judge AJ Styles. Joe said the difference
is that while he stood toe to toe with the newcomers that came along, AJ
kissed the ring of his new sugar daddy-ohh damn! AJ/Flair storm the ring
and Joe beats down AJ, but Flair gets a lot blow while setting up the
Muscle Buster. They continue the beatdown until refs come to break things
up and Flair rubs it in Joe's face on the mic.

Angle is shown looking for the Band.

Eric confront AJ on his way out and asks him if he's proud of himself and
if he's going to have fun tonight on the town. He gets to the point and
says in such a high calibre match this Sunday, he needs someone to call it
right down the middle. That man is him, Eric Bischoff, the special guest
referee for this Sunday's main event!

Mike/Taz go over the 8-Card Stud lineup:

-Angle/Anderson
-Tag team champs collide: Morgan/Super Maxi
-Wolfe/Pope
-Foley/abyss with Unmaking stipulation for Abyss

Angle is backstage again and Hulk comes out saying it's not going to
happen this way. Hulk looks like he's going to stop him, but changes his
mind, saying he wont interfere and knowing the band like he does, they'll
be hitting the ring soon. Angle is now in the ring saying he knows Hogan
let his boys in so Nash and Pac should come get some. They hit the ring
and he starts taking it to Pac, turns around and takes care of Hall, then
puts him in the Ankle Lock. But Pac busts out a pair of brass knuckles
and they overtake him. Hulk heads to the ring and he looks very pleased.
Hall shows the brass knuckles to Hogan and hands them over, but Hogan
betrays the band and lays one on Hall! Pac eats a fitful of brass as well
as we go off the air!
